Our story.

A few years ago, one of the founders of Pool Spa Internet Marketing Consultants, was in the middle of negotiating his new contract for Yellow Page advertisement with Verizon.  He was the owner of the largest spa and pool repair company in the Los Angeles area, Precision Spa.  The Verizon sales rep insisted that Verizon still was the best option for advertisement and that it was well worth it to spend up to $3,000 per month advertising with them in the So.Cal area.  It was agreed that Verizon would use individual phone numbers and tracking code in each ad, and that Precision Spa would have access to monthly reporting.

As it turned out, to continue advertising with yellow pages was not such a good idea. Precision Spa figured out that over a period of a year (the length of the Verizon contract), each and every call coming from the yellow page ads cost $227.  This was based on the tracking provided by Verizon of every incoming call to the office that was answered. Clearly, yellow page advertisement was not working as it once had.

Precision Spa turned to the internet for as a way to reach customers. They signed up with an internet marketing company that charged $1100 per month for PPC advertisement (paid click on Google/Yahoo/Bing). That all worked well until the economy started to collapse and they were forced to cut down on advertisement spending. They contacted the marketing company to ask for a rate reduction. To their surprise the marketing company cut their fees in half without blinking and did cut their rates even further after some negotiation. If a marketing company can drop their price in half without arguing, what kinds of margins do they have?

This started quite a few years of study and experimentation with all aspects of internet marketing for Precision Spa. For the last few years they have dominated the  Los Angeles market with their search engine placement and positions.
